Trump Officials Held Secret Meetings With Prominent Canadian Group Seeking To Secede

Per The Daily Beast, a State Department spokesperson has admitted that the meetings took place but suggested nothing has been agreed to, stressing that “no commitments were made.”

• Constitutional Amendment: Rep. Ralph Norman and Rep. Vern Buchanan have proposed a constitutional amendment to prohibit pay for members of Congress during a shutdown.

• No Pay for Congress During Default or Shutdown Act: A bipartisan bill, this legislation would withhold pay for members of Congress if the government shuts down or hits the debt limit.
