UPDATE: What is Russ Jehl waiting to see before the Anchor vote?
Fort Wayne Councilman Russ Jehl plans to visit the Engagement Center at the Lafayette Transitional Housing Center on Thursday before the council’s expected final vote on the proposed Anchor Resource Center. Jehl said seeing the operation in person will help him understand its impact after he missed Monday evening’s public forum.
The council is expected to vote next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. on a $2.75 million request to buy and renovate 333 E. Washington Blvd. The city says the proposed low-barrier facility would include food, showers, laundry, phone service, secure storage and wraparound providers.
